Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of the vupdf website and the online PDF tools it provides (the “Service”). Please read them carefully before using the Service.

Last updated:

1. Acceptance

By using the Service you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Service.

How your personal data is processed is explained in our Privacy Policy.

2. Description of the Service

vupdf is a free, ad-supported online toolkit that lets you merge, split, compress, convert, edit, encrypt and otherwise process PDF and other documents in your browser. No account is required to use the Service.

To keep the Service running smoothly for everyone, reasonable limits apply to file size, number of files and request frequency. Tool-specific limits are shown on the relevant tool page.

3. Your responsibilities and prohibited use

You alone are responsible for the content of the files you upload and for having the right to process them. You may use tools such as password removal only on files you are authorised to open.

You may not use the Service to:

  • process unlawful content or files that infringe the intellectual property, personality or privacy rights of others;
  • remove protection from documents you are not authorised to access, or circumvent access restrictions;
  • upload files containing malware, or test, bypass or attempt to disrupt the security of the Service;
  • send bulk requests with automated tools, try to exceed usage limits or overload the Service;
  • resell the Service commercially without permission or present it as your own service;
  • use the HTML to PDF tool to reach systems you are not authorised to access or to harm third parties.

If we detect use that breaches these Terms, we may restrict or block the relevant access without prior notice.

4. Intellectual property

All rights in the vupdf name, logo, website design, texts and software belong to vupdf or its licensors. This content may not be copied, reproduced or used for commercial purposes without our written permission.

All rights in the files you upload remain with you or the respective rights holders. Using the Service grants us no ownership or usage rights over your files; we process them only for as long and as far as needed to perform the operation you request. The resulting files also belong to you.

5. Advertising

The Service is free and funded by advertising. Ads are shown through Google AdSense only if you consent to the advertising category in your cookie preferences. Advertisers are responsible for the products and services they advertise, the content of their websites and any dealings you have with them.

6. Accuracy of results and disclaimer

The result of operations such as conversion, compression and OCR may differ from the original file (for example in fonts, layout or recognised text). It is your responsibility to check the result before relying on it and to keep a copy of your original file; no copy of your files remains on our server after processing.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by applicable law, no express or implied warranty is given that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, vupdf is not liable for loss of data, loss of profit or indirect damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service.

This limitation does not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, to injury to life or health, or in any other case where mandatory law does not allow liability to be limited. Your consumer rights under Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and the laws of your country of residence that cannot be waived by contract remain unaffected.

8. Changes to and termination of the Service

We may change, suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service, any tool or the usage limits at any time without prior notice. Because the Service does not store your files, such changes cannot cause you to lose data held on our server.

9. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. The courts and enforcement offices of the Republic of Turkey have jurisdiction over disputes; in disputes to which you are a party as a consumer, your right to apply to consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts under Law No. 6502 is preserved. Consumers resident outside Turkey retain the rights granted to them by the mandatory consumer protection provisions of their country of residence, including the right to bring proceedings before the competent courts there.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version, with its last-updated date, is always published on this page. By continuing to use the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

11. Contact

If you have any questions about these Terms, please reach us via our Contact page.
