This tool adds an image of your signature to the PDF. It is not a qualified or legally binding electronic signature.

What Sign PDF does

Sign PDF lets you add your signature to a PDF without printing, signing by hand and scanning it again. You create a signature once, by drawing it with a mouse, finger or stylus or by typing your name in a handwriting-style font, and then place it exactly where it belongs on the page. It suits everyday paperwork: a permission slip, an offer letter, a delivery note or an internal approval form.

Besides the signature itself, you can add initials, a company stamp from an image, a date and short text such as “Read and approved”. Be clear about what this produces: the tool stamps an image of your signature onto the page. That is a simple electronic signature. It is not certificate-based, so it is not a qualified electronic signature under eIDAS or a secure electronic signature under Turkish Electronic Signature Law No. 5070, and it does not legally equal a handwritten signature where such a signature is required.

How to use Sign PDF

  1. Open Sign PDF and upload the PDF you need to sign (up to 30 MB).
  2. Click Create signature and choose a tab: draw or type a signature, make initials, upload a stamp, or add a date or text, then press Use.
  3. Drag the item onto the page, or tap it in the list and then tap the spot on the page where it should go.
  4. Move it into position and pull its corner to resize it; use Apply to all pages if it belongs on every page.
  5. Repeat for other pages or items, then click Sign and Download to get the signed PDF.

Features and options

Draw or type your signature
Draw freely with undo, redo and clear, or type your name and pick a font. Choose black, blue or navy ink so the signature looks like it was made with a real pen.
Initials for every page
Type your full name and the initials are made from its first letters, which you can still edit, or draw them by hand. Combined with Apply to all pages, this initials each page of a contract in one step.
Company stamp from an image
Upload a PNG or JPG of your stamp or seal and use Remove white background so it sits cleanly on the page instead of as a white box.
Date and free text
Add today's date in the format of the site language, or pick another day, and write short notes such as your title or “Read and approved” next to the signature.
Several signatures in one go
Keep up to 10 named items, for example a full signature, initials and a stamp, and place up to 10 items on each page. The placed items are listed so you can review or remove them before downloading.

When it helps

  • A parent signs and dates a school trip permission form on a phone and emails it back the same evening.
  • A freelancer initials every page of a service agreement and signs the last page before returning it to a client.
  • A small company adds its stamp and the manager's signature to a delivery note before sending it as a PDF.

Tips and limits

  • Password-protected PDFs cannot be signed directly. Remove the password first with Remove Password, then sign the unlocked copy.
  • If the PDF already carries a certificate-based digital signature, adding your signature image changes the file and that existing signature will no longer validate. The tool warns you when it detects this.
  • When a document legally requires a qualified or secure e-signature, use a certified e-signature provider and a qualified certificate instead of this tool.
  • PDFs of up to 300 pages can be signed. Draw on a touchscreen or with a stylus for the most natural-looking signature.

Frequently asked questions

Is a signature made here legally valid?
It is a simple electronic signature: an image of your signature on the page. Many everyday documents accept it, but it is not a qualified or secure electronic signature and cannot replace one where the law or the other party requires it.
How is this different from a certificate-based e-signature?
A qualified or secure e-signature is created with a personal certificate issued by an authorized provider and cryptographically proves who signed and that the file was not changed. This tool does not use certificates; it places a picture of your signature.
Can I put the same signature on every page?
Yes. Select the placed signature or initials and use Apply to all pages; it is added at the same spot on each page.
Will the signature land correctly on rotated or landscape pages?
Yes. The position is taken from the page as you see it in the preview, and the image is kept upright even on pages that are rotated inside the PDF.
What happens to my signature and document?
The PDF and the signature image are sent to vupdf's own servers only to produce the signed file, and they are deleted right after the result is delivered.
