What JPG to PDF does

JPG to PDF turns photos, scans and screenshots into a PDF you can email, upload or print. Add up to 20 images of up to 20 MB each in JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF or TIFF format. Every picture becomes a page, and a multi-page TIFF from an office scanner gets one page per frame.

Each card shows the image already placed on the chosen paper, so you can judge margins and cropping before converting. Phone photos are stood upright automatically, transparent areas take the page color you pick, and pictures keep their original quality. You get one combined PDF, or a separate PDF per image packed in a ZIP.

How to use JPG to PDF

  1. Click the upload area or drag your images onto it, adding them in the order you want the pages to appear.
  2. On the cards, rename, rotate or remove images; Ctrl+Z or Cmd+Z undoes a removal.
  3. In the page settings, choose A3, A4, A5, US Letter, Legal or “Same as image”, then set the orientation and the margin.
  4. Decide whether each picture should fit completely on the page or fill the whole page, and pick a white, gray or black page color.
  5. If you added more than one image, choose between one PDF and a separate PDF per image, and type a file name if you like.
  6. Start the conversion and download the finished PDF, or the ZIP when you asked for separate files.

Features and options

Paper sizes or “Same as image”
Use a standard sheet for printing or strict upload rules. “Same as image” makes each page exactly the size of its picture, so nothing is shrunk or cut off, ideal for screenshots.
Fit or fill
“Fit whole picture” keeps the entire image visible and leaves empty space around it if the shapes differ. “Fill the page” covers the sheet edge to edge and trims what sticks out, which looks better for photo albums than for documents.
Page color behind the picture
White, gray or black fills the margin and any empty area around a fitted image. It also becomes the background of transparent PNG or WebP files, since a PDF page has no see-through paper.
One file or one per image
A single PDF keeps everything together. Separate PDFs come in a ZIP and take their file names from the names on the cards, which is handy when each receipt or certificate has to be uploaded on its own.

When it helps

  • You photographed a signed contract page by page with your phone and need to send it as one PDF.
  • A university portal asks for your diploma, ID and transcript as separate PDF uploads, and you only have JPG scans.
  • You want to print a handful of holiday photos on A4, each with a small white margin and in automatic orientation so wide and tall shots both fill the paper.

Tips and limits

  • Cards cannot be dragged into a new order here, so add the images in sequence; if one is misplaced, remove it and add it again at the right moment.
  • Because photos keep their original quality, a PDF made from large phone pictures can get big. Run it through Compress PDF afterwards if an upload form has a size cap.
  • HEIC photos from iPhones are not accepted. Export them as JPG first, or switch the camera format to the more compatible option.

Frequently asked questions

Will my photos lose quality in the PDF?
Not by default. Pictures are kept as they are and only re-encoded, at high quality, when something has to change, such as a rotation, a crop for “Fill the page”, or a format that a PDF cannot hold directly.
Why does my phone photo appear upright even though it looked sideways on my computer?
Phones often save pictures sideways with a note on how to turn them. The tool follows that note; if a picture is still wrong, use the rotate button on its card.
What does “Same as image” do to orientation and fit?
The page takes the exact shape of the picture, so the orientation and fit choices no longer apply and are disabled. Any margin you set is added around the picture.
Is there a limit on images or pages?
You can add 20 images per run, each up to 20 MB, and one run creates at most 600 pages. The page cap only matters for very long multi-page TIFF files.
Do my images stay on your server?
They are processed on vupdf's own servers only to build the PDF and deleted right after the result is delivered. No account is needed, and nothing is used for AI training.
