vupdf brings the PDF jobs people run into every day together in one place: merging and splitting files, shrinking a scan so it fits in an email, turning a Word document into a PDF or a PDF back into an editable file, adding a signature, a watermark or page numbers, and locking a document with a password. Every tool opens straight in the browser, so it works the same on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iPhone.

There is no account to create and nothing to install. You pick a file, check the settings and download the result, usually within a few seconds. Each tool has its own page that explains what it does, how to use it, what its options mean and where its limits are, so you know what to expect before you upload anything.

How it works

  1. Choose a tool from the list above, or use the categories to narrow it down.

  2. Drag your file onto the page or click to select it, then adjust the options the tool offers, such as page ranges, quality or a password.

  3. Start the job and download the result. Use "New task" to start again with another file.

  • Your files stay yours

    Uploaded files are used only for the job you asked for and are deleted from the server as soon as the result has been delivered to you. An automatic clean-up removes anything left over from an interrupted job within an hour. We do not look at your documents, keep copies of them or use them to train AI, and they are never used to target ads.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No. All tools run in a regular web browser without an account, an extension or a desktop app.
Is it safe to upload confidential documents?
Files travel over an encrypted connection, are processed only for your request and are deleted once you have the result. Passwords you enter are used for that one request and are never stored or logged. For highly sensitive material, the Redact tool can permanently remove information before you share a file.
Can I use vupdf on my phone?
Yes. The site is designed for small screens too, and you can pick files from your phone's storage or cloud drive and save the results back to it.
What if a tool does not give the result I expected?
Check the explanation under the tool first: it lists known limits, such as scanned pages that need OCR before their text can be edited. If something still looks wrong, tell us through the Contact page so we can fix it.
